Blog 10: One Last Post 🥺

Most recently, I was tasked with creating an interactive powerpoint. I really enjoyed this assignment. I have been in classes that utilized interactive powerpoints, but I never knew how to make one. For this assignment, I decided to create a Jeopardy board game. It was honestly really fun trying to put it together and seeing the overall product. I do not have anything bad to say about this project. In fact, I'm excited to utilize what I learned sometime in the future. When I create another interactive powerpoint, I am interested to see what else I can learn about PowerPoint. I will try to be a little more creative and test some ideas to see what I can come up with. Below is a screenshot of my Jeopardy board game. Check it out!

This week I also sharpened my skills using Excel Spreadsheet. Excel is a great program and can be very useful for my future as a teacher. I personally think I can use data collection to keep track of grades or attendance. Although there are advancing programs like Canvas or PowerSchool which track grades and attendance, I do like a more traditional approach to teaching. With that, I think that using Excel to use data collection for attendance and grades can be applicable for all grade levels, regardless of subjects.

As the last blog post for the semester, I thought it would be interesting to reflect on what I have learned from my classmates thus far. Most of what I learned is not necessarily tangible information regarding the class, but more about personalities. Reading my classmates' blogs lets me learn about their opinions and ideas. It also gives me a sneak peak about characteristics about the individual by what they say and how they say it. I really enjoy reading their blogs and look forward to reading their next one!

To be completely honest, I did not complete any Tech-Flex assignments and thus did not earn any badges. The main reason for this was because I was bombarded with school work, ROTC commitments, and a job. I really did not have much time to do optional assignments while still maintaining my sanity :P. However, I think that Tech-Flex would be great to complete to enhance one's skills. I personally am not the best with technology and therefore think could have benefitted from completed some of them. Maybe once finals are over, I will go back and try to complete some of them on my own.

Even though the semester is almost over, I do not want this to be the end of my education with technology. The next skill that I want to learn is social media management. I have social media accounts, however do not know how to use them to their fullest. I think that social media is going to be a very important aspect of life in the next few years and want to better my experience and knowledge with all that it has to offer. To do this, I may watch Youtube videos or see if there are classes that are offered through FSU. I hope that I can learn more about technology as I continue my education.

  1. Hey Ash! I feel a little bit sad as this is our last and final blog for EME 2040; however, I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts so much! I agree with you that reading others' blogs help us know about our classmates, including their personalities and beliefs. Also, I like your PowerPoint cover :) I would love to play your jeopardy to learn more about America!
Hope you have a great day!
